Coffee attributes kit
FlavorActiv references for calibrating a panel on coffee attributes.
125 USD
Six FlavorActiv reference standards for coffee attributes, encapsulated and individually blister-packed.
What is in it. Geraniol, for floral. Ethyl butyrate, for pineapple and tropical fruit. Molasses. Vanillin. Benzaldehyde, for almond and cherry. And 4-vinyl guaiacol, for phenolic and brown spice.
What it is for. A panel only agrees once everyone has smelled the same thing. A standard fixes the vocabulary: this is this thing, and it is called this. The descriptors follow World Coffee Research.
They are used in the sensory workshops, and also sold on their own.
