Tall forest trunks seen from below, canopies closing against a white sky

The waterfall the farm is named after

The same afternoon as the cacao, twenty minutes into the hills: the forest, the pool, the valley and the fall.

The farm where we tasted the cacao is called El Salto — the waterfall — and the waterfall is on it.

We went to see it that same afternoon, after the pod and before the metate. Between the first photograph of the forest and the last of the falling water, twenty minutes pass.

14:48. The forest on the way, the canopy closing overhead.

14:55. The first water: it falls over a mossy rock and gathers in a pool.

14:59. The valley, in panorama.

15:01. The wall of blocks, water coming down between the stones.

15:07. And the fall, down the high rock face.

The cacao afternoon is told in An afternoon of cacao at Finca El Salto.
