Tostao

Cacao and specialty coffee liqueur, with honey.

750 ml · 28% abv

Panoramic Tostao label: on the left a cacao tree with yellow and orange pods, on the right coffee bushes loaded with red cherries, and a dark mountain range between them; at the centre, a silver circular seal with the name, «Licor de cacao y café de especialidad» and «Panamá»

The base is distilled cane honey. That is why it comes out closer to a rum than to a seco: fermented and distilled cane honey gives one thing, cane juice gives another. That distinction is told in A cane mill in San Juan.

On that base go the cacao — from Bocas del Toro, from the collaboration called Proyecto Cacao — the specialty coffee (Geisha, Pacamara and Catuai), the raspadura and honey from our own apiary.

The name comes from tostado, roasted.
